Within the secluded peaks of Wales’ Snowdonia National Park, Snowdonia Hideaway is a true escape into the wild. This fairy tale home rides on the tides of nature; a self-catering cottage crafted by hand truthfully acknowledging land in which it resides. Off the beaten track, you’ll need gusto to get here and once arrived, luxury and comforts in abundance await along with breath-taking valley and sea views. In this remote part of Wales, the earth speaks freely and the springs trickle by; the best antidote to busy, modern lives.
Inside
A recently converted barn in which old ancient objects and simple thoughtful touches meet new modern pieces. The undulations on the oak and pine beams so worn and used from their life in a former buttery sit alongside an old cherry wood farmhouse table, unique local art, Welsh throws and framed embroidery; bringing the space to life with a cosy homely feel. A super king-size bed can also be made into a twin and a truckle bed can be added for a child. Cast iron radiators and a log burner and a wide screen TV with Netflix and Disney make this ancient building cosy for nights in. The cottage has solar hot water heating so you can enjoy a low carbon shower with no fossil fuels required to heat the water during the summer.
Outside
3 acres of land hugged by mountain and seascapes warmly welcomes wildlife to hedgerows, colourful blooms, a gently babbling brook and tangled trees, while a wood fired hot tub invites you after your long hike in the Snowdonia Hills. An enclosed garden offers privacy and keeps your four legged friends from straying onto sheep fields as far as the eye can see. For lazy days, recline on the swing seat looking out to sea or wander down to the request stop on the Tal Y Llyn Railway for a trip to waterfalls, café or adventure park. Come nightfall there’s not a light nearby to disturb the stars, so grab a blanket and lay amongst the wildflowers as they stud the sky with bright twinkles.
