The river in autumn on a hike up Cadair Idris

We know that it is our responsibility to look after the locality we live in. We also understand that we are very privileged to live in such a beautiful location and the reason people come here on holiday is because of the beauty of the nature surrounding us. We feel we have a duty to help people who book with us to leave a light footprint here and to help our remote rural community to thrive. As owners of a tourism destination this means we are actively trying to:

  • Reduce energy use
  • Save water
  • Have efficient & eco-friendly waste disposal
  • Buy ethically
  • Stay local & seasonal
  • Minimise food miles
  • Promote biodiversity, protecting bats, birds and other wildlife on the smallholding
  • Adopt a smart, sustainable outlook
  • Encourage following the countryside code
  • Support local community initiatives such as local nurseries, Greener Tywyn, Tywyn Beach Guardians, Mach Maethlon, Calon Meddwl Corff, Aberdyfi drop in Centre, RNLI and other local charities
  • Advise guests on events and local businesses
  • Prevent noise and late arrivals
  • Offer discounts for locals
  • Offer opportunities for those on lower incomes to visit, including an artist’s residency to support the creation of music and art in the area
  • Promote the Welsh language and culture (Welsh website coming soon..)
